What is the pattern of SSC CGL Exam and how to succeed?

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) (Hindi: कर्मचारीचयनआयोग) is a GOVT OF INDIA organization to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. Exam conducted by SSC 1-SSC(CHSL) 2- SSC(CGL) 3-SSC (CPO)
Eligibility
A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 27 years as on 01-08-2015. *There are relaxations for various categories such as Defence Personnel, SC/ST, etc.
SSC CGL 2019 Exam Pattern
Staff Selection Commission of India conducts SSC CGL  Exam in four stages: Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 & Tier-4 exam. While Tier-I & Tier-II exam will be conducted onlineTier-III will be a pen and paper based exam and Tier-IV will be a computer skill test. Let's have a look at the exam pattern for all these stages of SC CGL 2019 Recruitment process one by one.

Candidates must note that the score for SSC CGL Tier-I & Tier-II Exam will be normalised if it is conducted in multiple shifts. The normalisation score will be decided by SSC and it will be considered final for selecting candiidates for the further rounds (Tier-III & Tier-IV) of SSC CGL 2018-19 Exam.
SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern
SSC CGL Tier-1 will be conducted tentatively from 04th June to 19th June 2019. The exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 sections with about a 100 questions in total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes.
The sections asked in SSC CGL Tier-I Exam are:

Penalty of Wrong Answer: There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut off. No point will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted by a candidate.

SSC CGL Tier-2 Exam Pattern
SSC CGL Tier-2 will be conducted tentatively from 11th September to 13th September 2019. The exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 sections with about a 100 questions in each section and with maximum marks of 200.
The sections asked in SSC CGL Tier-I Exam are:

SSC CGL Tier-3 Exam Pattern
Tier-3 of SSC CGL will be a descriptive test. The paper will be in English/Hindi and will constitute of 100 marks. The entire paper needs to be completed in 60 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam Pattern
SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. It will be conducted in two steps: DEST Test & CPT Test.
DEST: Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate's writing skills.
CPT: This test is conducted to check a candidate's proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Generation of Slides.
SSC CGL Syllabus 
To scale SSC CGL 2019, it is necessary for candidates to know the syllabus for each section asked in the exam along wiith the exam pattern. Knowledge of SSC CGL Syllabus will enable you to prepare well and systematically for the upcoming SSC Exams.

Preparation Strategy for SSC CGL Tier-I Exam
  1. Regular Practice: Make a habit practicing previous year paper and mock test every day to improve your speed and accuracy. ...
  2. Build a Proper Study Plan: Follow a proper strategy and a time table for all the sections of question paper.




For solving CGLquestion paper, you need to know the pattern of questions asked, what are the various sections of question paper, which section take more time, while which one take less time, is there any sectional cutoff or not , negative marking.
For instance, Tier I question paper comprises of 4 sections
Quantitative aptitude
Logical Reasoning
English Language
General Studies
Each section contains 25 questions. All questions carry equal marks (2 mark each question).
There is a negative marking of 0.5marks per question for wrongly marked questions.
So plz attempt only those questions which you know very well. Don't make blind guess.
There is no sectional cutoff in SSC CGL Tier 1. So you should attempt the questions which you know correctly irrespective of gs, English,quant, Reasoning . Focus on the section on which you have good command.
